Today is the last day we're going to have with my fourteen year old dachshund- Prissy. She mis-stepped the other day and injured her back, paralyzing her from midspine down. Her breed is known for spine injuries as they get older, but I still can't believe that just one wrong step caused this. She was just fine a week ago.

We've tried all we could to help her and try to heal her, but her already weak body just isn't responding to the medication or anything. My mom's bringing her home from the vet today, so she can have a comfortable night at home. If there was anything else we could do, we would do it in a heartbeat for her, but the vet has tried absolutely everything, and we don't want her to suffer anymore.

I can't remember a time in my life where we didn't have her around. She's a wonderful dog, full of personality and love. She would always stay right near us if anyone ever got sick. This is going to be one of the hardest weekends for me; she's a member of my family, and I don't want to lose her, but I know she needs to go to where she won't have to hurt or suffer ever again. If you guys could please pray for or send good thoughts to her and to my family as well.
